Prime Speed Sport is set to become the first New Zealand-based team to take on the Asian Le Mans Series in the upcoming 2024/2025 season.
Located at Hampton Downs and Taupo Motorsport Park, Prime Speed Sport has experienced local success with multiple titles in GT4 and Porsche Cup class racing. This Asian Le Mans Series campaign marks an exciting step in the team's wider international program as they prepare for an expanded effort in Europe throughout 2025, in conjunction with New Zealand-based racing activities.
The Asian Le Mans Series is a premier endurance racing championship, designed to bring world-class competition to Asia. Prime Speed Sport will compete in this highly competitive series, taking on some of the best teams in the world in each of the six championship rounds. As part of their debut, Prime Speed Sport will run a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo2 with a striking 'all kiwi black' livery. Taking on this task on behalf of the team are three drivers with an impressive blend of both experience and talent.
- Nick Foster: An Australian FIA gold-rated driver with experience not only in Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2) but with experience in the World Endurance Championship. In addition to being an Australian Porsche Carrera Cup Champion, he has been a podium finisher in every championship he has entered.
- Jono Lester: Born in New Zealand, Jono is a third-generation silver-rated racer from a family with over 50 years of experience in motorsport. A former Porsche Junior, Jono has built an impressive career spanning over two decades, competing and winning on the global stage in various high-calibre machinery.
- Mana Malmezac: As a French Kiwi driver in just his third season of car racing, Mana has already achieved great success. He has secured podium finishes in both of his international race starts, and has become class champion in the North and South Island Endurance Racing Series. He is our gentleman bronze for this season.
With a Kiwi-based crew travelling from New Zealand to every event, Prime Speed Sport is ready to embrace this challenge and showcase Aotearoa's motorsport talent in the Asian Le Mans Series. Prime Speed Sport is proud to have the backing of Chancellor, AEDIFICE, Pacific Petroleum, Motul, and Peak Marketing on this journey. Their support is instrumental in ensuring New Zealand is represented on the global motorsport stage and able to compete in endurance racing at a world level.
